This date has the lowest mintage for any P Mint coin from 1934 to the present, and is the toughest coin from 1915 to the end of the Wheat Reverse series (in fact, to the present day, 2019 as well!) in MS-67RD. It is none to easy in any Gem BU grade. The reason is crappy production values - almost all coins seem to be stained or off-color, or show strike problems. These deficiencies were known even in the early 1960’s, when the BU roll investment craze took off. I once purchased a “BU” roll of this date where every coin had been dipped to “improve” the color and make them appear Red. Thankfully, the example offered here is far better than most, with a good Obverse and decent Reverse strike, full “bricky” Red color and a minimum of the dark “webby” potting that plagues the issue. Not a huge value of course, but an excellent example that not all rare coins are expensive (and, not all expensive coins are necessarily “rare” either).
