1914 Barber Dime, Original Uncirculated Coin, PCGS MS-64

1914 Barber Dime, Original Uncirculated Coin, PCGS MS-64

237.00

An original Uncirculated example, and very original, showing Reverse toning. No significant marks of note just some light scuffs here and there. The originality also explains why most survivors have been cleaned, unlike this coin, as the slightly uneven toning may not appeal to all. It certainly would have encouraged abuse back when “white is right” was the rule of the day. Until fairly recently, most collectors preferred bright white coins, over originally toned examples, so dealers obliged them by dipping (or worse) coins such as this. Almost all original coins from this period should show some toning, as there were no archival storage options available, as well as the fact that most coins such as this were saved by the general public randomly, rather than by the collectors of the day.
