A nice high grade circulated example, close to AU however showing some weakness of strike on the Eagle (head/neck/shield corner). Out of an old set, this suffered the inevitable light cleaning long ago, but still shows obvious luster around the rims. It has largely toned back with an attractive rim toning of mixed green, yellow, grey-blue and reddish-brown, and many could not tell it had ever been cleaned - certainly many dealers would not mention it. Given the way the series is traditionally treated by the grading services, this would be considered a no problem coin and I am sure that it would certify. With a Mintage of less than 900,000 coins, this is considered a “common” date, yet PCGS CoinFacts estimates a survival of perhaps 700 coins - compare that to the 1909-S VDB Cent.
