W-20/WB-105. A Very Late Die State of this variety, with an Obverse that shows heavy relapping to remain in service, leaving the stars very weak, as well as the Reverse heavily cracked with a small retained cud in the area of “ED STA”. The date logotype is also a bit curiously shipped, with a weakness horizontally through center, but strong at top and bottom. This last seems to appear on a number of other Obverse dies used this year at New Orleans, suggesting a problem in the die shop at Philadelphia, at which all dies were prepared and sent to The Big Easy. Oddly enough, given the severe hammering that the Reverse die took, this is considered the most common die marriage for the date. Otherwise, a nice sharp coin, with a Reverse that is very close to an EF - with the weaker Obverse, a Net VF+.
