A solid upper end circulated example of the first of the so-called "Philippines Dates".  The largest percentage of the 1898-1899 Barber coin production from San Francisco was sent to those newly acquired islands to replace Spanish Colonial coinage.  As a result, 1898-S Barber Dimes, Quarters & Halves that survived and came back to the U. S. are typically pretty crappy, and almost always cleaned (harshly).  This is a pleasant exception.  Additional coin images taken prior to submission to PCGS are included as I think they represent the actual color better.
