HK-409, Montana State Fund Dollar, struck to raise funds for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition at San Francisco. Choice Uncirculated, certified NGC MS-64. Sslightly uneven antiquing, being darker on the Obverse than the Reverse, common to this issue. More importantly this bears a provenance to probably the greatest collection of California exonumia yet sold, that of Bill Weber. This piece probably in the 2008 Weber auction, sold as a raw lot not deemed worthy of certification at the time by Jeff Shevlin or Fred Holabird. Comes with the original envelope as shown, most recently out of the collection of a major PPIE collector who was a big buyer in the Weber auction, now working on selling off his holdings. Not a rare piece, but worthy of a small premium for the connection to Weber, in my opinion.
