Repunched Date, JD-2, Fletcher-1, Breen 2516.  Second 8 repunched, this is the same Obverse die used to strike Business Strikes, however this is definitely a Proof.  JD-2 as a Proof is a scarcer die pairing, about 1/4 of the Proofs struck.  Surface is mark free however some old PVC contamination from storage in a vinyl flip, so the surface is a bit dull (not shiny "proofy").  That makes this a good simulacrum for the next to impossible Business Strike issue, since it looks more like one of those than the typical 1880 Proof.  Always a popular date that commands a premium above posted levels.  0821-03
