A bright flashy Choice BU coin in an old green label holder (OGH). Certainly not rare in the grade, with 702 at PCGS and 391 at NGC, but with only 52 at CAC. The somewhat lower value likely reduces the chance that someone might submit such a coin to CAC, however the percentage passed is only about HALF of that for the MS-65 grade. That says something about the limitations of assigning a grade, which in MS-64 is largely due to strike. This coin is well struck other than a touch of weakness on the Bison’s shoulder, and was likely submitted in the hopes of getting a Gem grade, as it is otherwise has that “pop” expected of a true MS-65.
