1921 Mercury Dime, PCGS/CAC VF-25, Scarce CAC

1921 Mercury Dime, PCGS/CAC VF-25, Scarce CAC
Individual coin images taken prior to submission, as (frankly) the PCGS images are typically a bit dark & muddy, in my opinion. Generally stronger around the periphery than usual; this is a chronic problem with this and the 1921-D Dimes, as noted in Lange. I felt that this coin would certify VF-30 when I submitted it, as the Reverse is essentially identical to the PCGS/CAC 1921-D Dime in VF-30 I also have listed (if still available). However the Obverse is a bit weaker and I think this is what caused PCGS to deduct the 5 points. Either way, obviously the notoriously picky CAC had no problem with the coin! Scarce with CAC approval, due to this date’s typical strike issues: 101 at PCGS, 69 at NGC versus only 6 at CAC (July, 2025). Zero in the new CACG holder; per their policy this is guaranteed to cross at the same grade if submitted.
