Uncirculated, certified PCGS Unc Details for what they felt was an old cleaning.  Personally, I think they were smoking some of that California wacky weed, as I disagree - as has every dealer who has looked at the coin since I got it back.  This was originally held in a Whitman folder, and shows the classic lighter area of toning from being taped into the port of the folder.  Lettered Edge Halves, lacking a reeded edge, usually had a very difficult time staying put in these folders, hence the tape job.  Full bold luster under medium reddish-gray toning, very even color.  The only breaks in the toning are atop the very highest points of relief, the hair roll above Liberty's ear and right beneath the cap.  My experience is that coins that have been cleaned almost always tone back oddly or unevenly, which this coin does not show in the least.  No "hairlines", at least from what I can associate with a cleaning - some stray here and there typical of a coin that was lightly handled.  One very lightly scuffed area on Liberty's cheek, classically due to being bumped by an album slide at some point.  Otherwise mark free fields and from 12"+ away looks like a stone Gem Unc.  In my professional opinion, certainly equivalent to the eye appeal of an MS-62 or perhaps better, especially considering that the average certified MS-62 almost always has been "processed" (dipped aka cleaned), shows obvious wear on the high points, or was Net graded for problems more significant than this coin displays.  This is a NICE coin that is fully deserving of consideration for inclusion in a U. S. Type Set.  I leave it up to the observer to make up their own mind about it.
