Choice Almost Uncirculated (AU-58).  In my opinion this coin was either an Uncirculated example, or spent less than a month in circulation before being put aside, and was exceedingly lightly cleaned at some point.  It shows some VERY light hairlines that are not obvious unless you put a 5x glass to the coin, so almost certainly not going to certify other than as Details.  However, a decent strike overall unlike many if not most, with Liberty's left hand partially complete, and nice "soft" frosty luster typical of the date and not all dipped out.  My extra images should clearly show that.  What metal is missing from the surface is mostly due to strike, with the Eagle's left leg and the line along Liberty's body/leg being the typical culprit.  There is a light haze on the surface that I did not disturb, as this came out of an old collection and was probably stored in a flip for a long time (no PVC on the surface however).  All in all a very attractive coin and if you are not all wigged out about needed a PCGS/NGC coin, this will fit into any high grade set without most people noticing anything "wrong" with the coin.  Certainly in the bad old pre-PCGS days, this was probably sold as a "Choice BU".  Properly graded by PCGS or NGC with CAC, closer to a $2000 coin.
