1919-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, Key Date, PCGS AU-55, Flashy Luster

1919-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, Key Date, PCGS AU-55, Flashy Luster
An original coin out of an old California hoard, nice bright luster and mostly white other than some small areas of darker toning. These are not as distracting on the actual coin as they appear on the PCGS cert image. I have included a bunch of images, both taken prior to certification, as well as after. Well struck unlike many of the date, with the overall detail, actual wear and the luster of a coin that would normally certify as AU-58 in my opinion. The slight limitation in the assigned grade is due to some light scuffing in the fields, acquired while in the can, box or bag that held the lot of coins this emerged from. Held at normal viewing distance, the surface scuffs are not egregious and the coin has good eye appeal overall. The minor areas of toning are more of a minor distraction, and can be removed by conservation however I chose to leave it in it's natural state. A new owner can make their own choice about the matter. As for CAC, I will offer my honest opinion that as picky as they prove to be, my impression is that it was not worth my time and cost to try, so I have not attempted a submission. I guarantee that CAC has not seen this coin, as I submitted it to PCGS myself, raw. On the other hand, I am not asking a CAC price either. Due to value, this will require Registered Mail shipping, which is slower delivery time. Shipping will be at my expense.
