Smoky grey toning with a strong reddish undertone. Luster is distinct around the rims on both sides in the protected areas among the stars and lettering. From the same set as the PCGS 1892 and 1899 Halves I also have listed (if still available), so not a terrible surprise as they all shared the same first page in a Whitman-style folder no doubt. Not super common CAC either: 30 in the grade at PCGS, 7 at NGC, versus only 4 at CAC (Zero at CACG). As an interesting side note, PCGS CoinFacts (which covers all the major auction houses) shows no auctions for a PCGS coin in this date/grade since 2013, NGC since 2019 and ebay since 2022. That suggests the available supply that will pass muster at either major service has definitely dried up, and most coins that would CAC have probably been submitted.
